About this guide

Visit Zhangjiajie

An independent travel guide to Zhangjiajie, China — written for people who want real information, not marketing copy.

What this is

Visit Zhangjiajie started as a personal collection of notes from multiple trips to the area. The kind of information that's hard to find online — actual ticket prices, which cable car has shorter queues, where locals eat, which trails are worth the effort and which are overhyped.

We built it into a proper website because the existing information in English is either out of date, padded with filler, or written by people who visited once on a press trip. You deserve better than that.

What we cover

  • Attractions — Every major site explained honestly: what it actually costs, what the experience is like, and what to watch out for.
  • Trails — Detailed route guides with real distances, elevation, and difficulty ratings that reflect conditions on the ground.
  • Costs — A complete, up-to-date breakdown of every fee you'll encounter. Updated when prices change.
  • Practical info — Getting there, getting around, paying for things, and handling the logistics that China travel guides often gloss over.
  • Eat & Stay — Restaurant picks that reflect what locals actually eat, and honest accommodation advice by area.

How we keep it honest

Prices, hours, and policies change. We update pages when things shift, and every page carries a "last updated" date so you know how fresh the information is. If something is out of date, please let us know.
